Class Calendar:
IANC
Drafting Patent Claims Workshop in partnership with Shasta College SBDC (Small
Business Development Center
http://www.shastabrc.com/.)
We are establishing a two part class on drafting patent
claims. The classes, part one and part two will comprise 1.5 hour to two
hour sessions. Like the provisional patent classes, participants will
receive the new tutorial Drafting Patent Claims. The workshop will cover
basic claim writing skills and how to complete the other sections of a
non-provisional patent.
It is a natural follow-up to the provisional classes and
should enable you to formalize any existing provisional application you may
have on file. We do not have a firm date yet but it should be fairly soon.
The cost is the same as the provisional workshop $75.00 for both classes.
Please email
us at ianc@frontiernet.net
if you are interested in this workshop.
More SBDC News:
I will be working at the SBDC one full day or so per Month as
an SBDC counselor specializing in helping clients with the patent process.
As soon as I get the day or days I will publish them so you can schedule
time and get more concentrated assistance than otherwise might be
available. Any compensation for that service is donated to IANC general
operating fund to help provide more services.
We hope this will integrate our services somewhat so that
inventors will be more aware of the available services at the SBDC and SBDC
clients will be more aware of our services.
We will keep you all posted.
Patents in Commerce
IANC will be creating
summary power point presentations covering the important aspects of each of
the 20 DVDs in the series created by Bob Dematteis and Andy Gibbs. The
created programs will be presented to inventors and entrepreneurs in
scheduled presentations held either at our local SBDC (off of Park Marina)
in Redding or at our facility in Palo Cedro, if space permits. Those who
attend the presentation will be able to schedule access to the “long
versions” of any DVD in the series and will have the opportunity to obtain
other resources developed by Bob, an expert in marketing, including books,
journals, and DVD workbooks.
Palo
Way facility open to members:
The facility is
available to members for patent research such as, to search prior art,
complete market research, work on a business plan, create patent
illustrations, etc.
IANC’s office has
several computer stations and DSL line capabilities. Martin works at the
facility (office sharing) during the week. Martin also utilizes his home
office from time to time, so please call ahead to schedule a visit. If you
just show up, Martin may not be there.
Materials are
available to our members for in-facility research!
